KnowledgeStorm in an online survey of more than 4,000 B-to-B buyers indicates podcasts are beginning to have an impact on hard-to-reach audience. Overall, 41 percent of respondents have listened to podcasts on more than one occasion. What’s not so cool is 69 percent of respondents said they listened to podcasts at their computer rather than using a portable device.

Since Amanda Congdon leaved Rocketboom, there are many speculations about the cause and the future of her in the blogosphere and mainstream media. Just search for blog posts tagged with rocketboom in Technorati. The Rocketboom video podcast has a 300,000 people watching it per day. The dust has settled down, but it should give an idea about how a popular (video) podcast show could be the central of attention.

Dr Nathan Moss, a lecturer at Queensland University of Technology, didn’t realize how students were listening to his lecture podcast until one day he was late to put up the show. “It was really good because the [lecture] numbers weren’t going down at all, so they were using them to revise,” he said.

Just weeks after its creastion, Diet.com’s podcast has launched into the number-one spot as the most popular diet podcast on iTunes. The Diet and Fitness Podcast audio podcast delivers 3-4 minute audio clips providing practical diet, fitness and health tips. There were only 515 podcasts under the Fitness and Nutrition subcategory on iTunes as opposed to 3,036 under the Business category, 4,984 under the Education category, and 4,188 under the Comedy category.
