PodZinger to offer targeted video ads
PodZinger, audio and video search engine, is launching a new advertising platform that targets video ads based on search queries and content being viewed.
Content owners who wish to submit content to be indexed in PodZinger’s search engine can now choose to join the advertising program and share in the revenue generated from the ads. Ads will only be shown on content form its co-brand partners or from content owners who explicitly said they want ads.
Odeo discontinues Audioblogger
Odeo is restructuring their business and decide to discontinue Audioblogger — the feature to post to Blogger by phone — from their range of services. All old audio posts will remain available but after November 1 no new audio post is allowed.
Odeo, as a small business, thinks that Audioblogger has taken too many resources to maintain.
Google acquires YouTube for $1.6 billion
Google announced that it has agreed to announce YouTube, the consumer media company for people to watch and share original videos through a Web experience, for $1.65 billion in a stock-for-stock transaction.
Following the acquisition, YouTube will operate independently to preserve its successful brand and passionate community.
