- CNN has made a push to the podcasting world by jumping into video podcast. Currently the video podcasts offer hourly News Update, Business Update, Ask Glenn, Backstage Pass, and others. Now you can watch CNN shows on your iPod.
- TiVo has released the new TiVo Desktop 2.3 for Windows, with enhancements to support scheduled series downloads and MPEG-4 to MPEG-2 video transcoding for a variety of portable devices, including iPod and PSP. The offical support for the software is provided at $24.95.
- Vloggercon has published the video archive of events at the recent video blogging conference. Video podcast feed of the videos and links to other video resources are available.
- Instead of fighting users to prevent them from distributing unauthorized video on online video services, NBC decided to partner with YouTube. New NBC content will be uploaded weekly. They will also host a competition for user-generated content.
- comScore reported that social networking sites like Myspace.com is unstoppable, surpassing 50 million unique visitors in May 2006. YouTube, on the other hand, nearly doubled their traffic in the same month, reaching 12.6 million visitors. Now can we call 2006 the year of video yet?
