CBNC unveils podcasting service in Asia
Business news CNBC has unveiled a new podcasting service — CNBC Podcast — for the Asia-Pacific region. The service features several of its popular programs and segments, including Managing Asia, CEO Call, CNBC Conversation and Grow Your Wealth. More programs are coming.
“CNBC’s podcasts will extend our unrivaled business news to our loyal audience,” said Cynthia Owens, SVP for news and programming at CNBC Asia Pacific. “CNBC Podcast is another vehicle that allows us to reach our viewers where they want CNBC.”
YouTube adds brand channels
YouTube has rolled out its first Brand Channel, of which Warner Bros Records will be the first to use it to promote Paris Hilton’s debut album, “Paris”. At about the same time, YouTube unveiled a platform that is called participatory video ads (PVAs).
The first PVA was the Weinstein Co.’s current movie release “Pulse”, which was viewed 900,00 times in four day.
Arizona State University to test classroom podcasting
By the end of September, classrooms at ASU’s downtown Phoenix campus will be equipped to convert every lecture into a podcast, an electronic file that can be listened to or watched on digital audio players or computers. The files will include any video or slides that professors use to explain the material.
Talkshoe announce cash program
Talkshoe announces TalkShoe Cash program to pay people to create podcasts, and refer other hosts. Users are paid for creating podcasts as well as for the number of people who listen to, download, or subscribe to their podcast. In addition, people are paid to refer hosts, based upon a percentage of the earnings of the referred hosts.
