Time’s 2006 Person of the Year - You

The Christmas 2006 issue of Time Magazine has “You” (and me, us) as the cover story. To quote the cover: “Yes, you. You control the Information Age. Welcome to your world.”
They are talking about user-generated content and participation in the new era of media.

This response was the living example of the idea of our 2006 Person of the Year: that individuals are changing the nature of the information age, that the creators and consumers of user-generated content are transforming art and politics and commerce, that they are the engaged citizens of a new digital democracy.
From blogs to social networks like MySpace, all of them reflect the changes of the new Web, as they call it, Web 2.0.
