Ricky Gervais Podcast Moves to Mirror

An UK comedian who earned a Guinness Record for the most downloaded podcast in February this year, Ricky Gervais, has decided to move his podcast to The Daily Mirror, to join the new video podcast download section. The podcast show was originally published by The Guardian.

Ricky Gervais is an example of podcaster who know that as a new channel, there are still much to explore.

He started a podcast, received a Guinness Record, but didn’t stop there. He moved from a free podcast model to paid subscriptions in February 2006. As the result, he is charging $2 an episode for his audio podcast. As with other famous people, he does receive badmouth about himself and his podcast.

He then tried video podcast, adopting a free model like when he started his first audio podcast.

If you still consider to start your own podcast, don’t confuse proper planning with procrastination. Yes, it is better if you can adjust things as you go. It is highly unlikely that you will have a lot of subscribers on the first show. But you will learn things that you can apply to your podcast to improve it.

Look closely at this one. I expect more things to come.
