Podcast Hijacking in Podshow, Fixed

Here is the story. Podshow has launched a new podcast service a few months ago, and the new Podshow plus launched just last week. The service lets you discover podcasts, collect and create your own channel, and connect with other people to see what they are into. Think of it as podcast community service with social network like features.
Todd Cochrane of Geek News Central was one of the many who reported the podcast RSS feed hijacking issue with Podshow. To quote from his blog post titled What was Podshow Thinking Hijacking my RSS Feed:
I am sitting here beyond pissed, not because they have my site automatically listed on their site that is fine because they are a directory, but in the way they have done it, this makes people assume that my podcast is part of Podshow, and diminishes my brand. They have made it near impossible to get to my home page from their site unless your really digg it’s 100% unacceptable.
What Podshow did is basically stripped out the original information from podcasters’ feeds and replace it with their own. Todd also speculated that probably the reason is because they are running advertisements on their site and want to keep their visitors as long as possible.
Dave Winer obviously was not happy with Podshow taking over his content and putting their own copyright notice on it.
I just don’t understand. Podshow is a toy of Adam Curry. Did he think he can get away with that unnoticed? Hmm…
The podcast hijacking issue has been fixed and now links point back to the owners feeds. At the same time, the copyright re-writing issues were resolved.
