PodcastAwards.com has announced the winners of the 2006 People’s Choice Podcast Awards, which includes podcasts and directory in 20 categories. The Peoples Choice and Best Produced Awardees will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on September 29th. The ceremony will be held at the Podcast and Portable Media Expo.

Total hits to the website since July 1st when they started the awards for this year is 7,911,000.

Todd Cochrane, founder of the Awards, explains that the listeners participation in this years event was simply nothing short of amazing with over 1 million votes being cast over the 15 day voting period. With over 8 million page site impressions during the entire six week process raised exposure for all 120 shows and sites.

Over 250,000 out going links to podcasters and sponsors sites resulted in huge traffic to those sites that were honored. I will be excited to meet all of the winners at the awards ceremony.
