Mopar Serves Better with Video Podcast

Mopar has jumped into the video podcast bandwagon by introducing Mo-Pod. The new site is created to host raw video footage of the Mopar nation. The Mo-Pod video podcast showcases lifestyle, passion and interest in all things Mopar.

The site features six categories: Racing, Mopar Life, MoRides, Xtreme, Spotlight and Heritage. Enthusiasts whose submissions are chosen for the Mo-Pod.com Podcast will receive a free one-year subscription to Mopar Magazine.

My thoughts: Mopar has the strategy done correctly. They enables Mopar enthusiasts to tune in and watch raw footage of cool cars, car club events, professional racing in action, and more. No doubtly, this will secure repeated audiences to their site, and also a perfect brand campaigns.

Mopar actually takes it to the next level by allowing their fans to send in a video of an event, race or any footage they might have. Involving the audiences in the process let the interaction move lively.

Unfortunately, I don’t see many descriptions about particular footage. Just one line with download links are too brief for new users to know what is going on. There is simply lack of content for search engines to be interested on their site. May be they will, if they have strong incoming links, or when competition is not yet that harsh.

But still people won’t find them through obvious keywords.

Providing a note about how to subscribe instead of linking to the podcast feed and iTunes subscription button may help big time too.

That comes to no surprise though, because their site is also heavy on graphics with almost no text content.
