The iTunes Music Store (iTMS) has grown from 8,000 podcasters when it introduced podcasting last year to 82,978 as of now. A 10 fold grow in about twelve months.

The most popular podcast category is News & Politics, followed by Music, Religion & Spirituality, Art, Society, Education, Technology, TV & Film, Comedy, Business, Sports & Recreation, Healthy, Games & Hobbies, Kids & Family, Science & Medicine and finally Government Organizations.

News & Politics category consists of more than 11,400 podcasts in total. We only have so much time in a day. The problem now is not how and where to get content.

It was a problem a few years ago to fill up my iPod. Now I am more concern about which podcasts to tune in to get the most out of my time.

I believe good promotion and marketing will get your podcasts in front of more people. But finally, you also must pay attention to quality of both content and audio.
