Ingenio, Podbridge Partner for Pay-Per-Call Podcast Ads

Pay-per-call advertising company Ingenio and podcast ad network and audience measurement firm podbridge will soon let advertisers serve performance-based audio ads into podcasts published by Bloomberg Radio, BBC, and Clear Channel.

This is the first time podcasts are being monetized with pay-per-call ads.

This move tries to expand the distribution of pay-per-call ads beyond traditional Web search. Ingenio has recently extend voice-based free 411 services through a partnership with Jingle Networks and SMS local search through a partnership with UpSnap.

The first podcasts will feature the ads this month, which will be largely from the financial servies and travel sectors.

Podbridge tracks the number of downloads and listners. It can serve ads dynamically by inserting them into the podcast and target them by demographics and geography.

Finally, there is one more way to monetize your podcast. This pay-per-call model is a major breakthrough in podacst advertising space. We should expect more improvements in the future, but still the technology is here.
