Google Now Reporting Feed Subscriber Numbers
Posted by Hendry Lee in Podcast Clients
You might noticed a jump in subscriber numbers in your FeedBurner account. It is because Google Reader and Google Personalized Homepage now is reporting the number of subscribers they have.
This is another data point to help feed publishers understand how many people have asked to receive your feed.
Google services are popular and contribute quite a share to my total feed subscriptions. For this blog, it is about 30% while on others, it represents more than 50%. For those who publish podcasts, you should expect a slight jump in the stats too, considering that some people use Google Reader as their favorite podcast aggregator.
FeedBurner reported that the event occurred on February 17th, so check your report during that period.
