Don’t Read This (The Worst Podcasting Tip Ever)
Posted by Hendry Lee in Podcast Promotion
First and foremost, I told you not to read this, and you’ve gone and broken it.
Either that or you are just curious about what is the single worst podcasting tip you will ever heard.
Ok, we’ll get into the tip later on. Stick with me here for a while and I promise to reveal it, deal?
The primary purpose of this post is to show you how a piece of good writing in the blog title could get your readers read what you have to offer in the body of the content.
To put it simpler, you want to get them to read the first sentence — as I want you to do so.
There is no point in writing the greatest piece but fail to write a great title that nobody will read it, other than your regular readers who actually read everything you post.
So, to repeat, the headline or title stops the readers right on their track to read more.
What does this have to do with podcasting?
A lot.
Sidenote: If you have been following my Weekly Podcast Profit Tip, you should now know why blogging could help you not only in publishing your podcast but also promote and maintain it later. But, if you choose not to use blog to publish your podcast, just replace the blog title with the title of your web page where you post your podcast. All other tips apply as well to any web publishing mechanism.
In previous post, I have explained the reason why the titles (of the podcast show and episodes) are important, now I have proven you exactly why.
I don’t recommend you to cheat people into reading your content and then later listen to it. In fact, keeping your promise is entirely critical for your credibility.
That’s why the “Don’t Read This” title works, but won’t bring you any good in the long run. People will learn they can’t trust you and skip you content regardless of the content.
Contrarily, the second piece of title obviously should be of some interests to those who are into podcasting. Who doesn’t want the worst podcasting tip — so they could avoid it — and prevent having to risk money and time?
Finally, the worst podcasting tip you could get is to do it all alone. You might be surprised with this one. Even if you have known podcasters who record, publish and promote their podcasts themselves, they seek others for help in the topic they know less.
Getting things right and keeping the momentum is important in starting and publishing your own podcast.
Until then, keep writing great blog post titles!

The title of a podcast may be just as important as the content in determining the success or failure of a podcast. With the 1000’s of podcats available to searchers, you can bet that a lame title will most often be overlooked.
