Apreso Podcast Automated University Podcasting

Anystream has released Apreso Podcast, an enterprise podcasting solution that enables centralized, campus-wide lecture capture and rich media publishing for students to playback later from iTunes, iPod, or any MP3 player or portable devices.

The product lets universities offer lecture playback and review by providing automatic scheduling, content management and integration with popular course management systems. This means content can be produced and distributed with very little changes on the current system.

University of Massachusetts-Lowell, Arizona State University and Temple University are examples of university implementing Apreseo Podcast to make lecture podcasts available to students by the Fall 2006 semester.

“Many of our professors were already creating podcasts on their own using manual recorders. Our challenge was to take these grassroots efforts to the next level and make podcasting a consistent, reliable study aid for any student to access,” said Mike Lucas, UMASS-Lowell coordinator of distance learning.

Anystream’s flagship product Apreso Classroom allows adding capture of classroom visuals, video and other materials. Both product include Apreso Content Manager, which acts as a rich media command and control center for lecture podcasting.

Apreso Podcast costs $10,000 per site license.
